Cedar Lake is growing in leaps and bounds. So is Center Garage. The
dealership, which is located on 133rd Avenue, just off Rt. 41 received
a new infusion of energy and ideas when Mark Fentress, of Schererville,
and Leroy Scott, of Hebron, became partners with owner John Schutz.
Schutz's grandfather founded the dealership in 1925.
Balloons
dot the landscape highlighting vehicles of every make and model
Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge, from fuel-efficient economy cars, truck,
vans and the ever so fashionable, but fuel efficient sports. The
energy rolls off the staff, which treats each and every customer with
care and courtesy. Service is a top priority, whether it is for a new
vehicle or for a returning customer.
"We are from NWI and are
very familiar with the area. Leroy and I had the opportunity to meet
with John Schutz, who is the perfect definintion of a gentleman. We
took the opportunity to partner with him and things have really taken
off for all of us. We took this opportunity to grow and do something
locally," explained Fentress. "We live in this area and wanted to be a
part of the community we live in. This dealership is definitely a part
of the community so it was a perfect fit," declared Scott.
"We
sold close to 150 cars last month. We work really hard to buy vehicles
below cost. That way the consumer wins, and we get to earn and build a
customer base for the future. We have the ability to handle all our
customer's needs from service and repair to finding either a new or
certified used car for each and every customer. We are [a] small
dealership in a small community and that gives us the ability to keep
costs down and stay involved with each and every customer. As owners,
the three of us have the opportunity to deal with each and every
customer personally. We are out front and can take care of the
customers and make sure we have what they need," explained Fentress.
"We offer exemplary service, which includes rental cars and courier
shuttle service. We are very accommodating and make sure we know what
our customers need. This dealership has had a very honorable tradition
and reputation since it was founded, and we intend to be a part of
that. We do a big business with certified pre-owned vehicles that have
a factory-backed warranty. We can offer the same coverage as on the
new cars. This dealership offers value pricing, something that is
exclusive to this store. This partnership is not just about the sales,
but it is also about making sure the customers are satisfied with the
vehicles and the service," noted Scott.
"We've installed a high
tech car wash. The wash is complementary with every service visit. We
also offer free oil changes for one year after the purchase of a
vehicle. Every Saturday an area restaurant comes in and we have a
cookout for our customers. We offer a totally familiar environment and
treat everyone like family. This dealership is built on family and
community values. We operate in a low pressure atmosphere," added
Fentress.
